Distance Learner Scholarships
The Distance Learner Scholarships are available for both in-state and out-of-state residents. Generally, each recipient must be unconditionally admitted as a full-time, degree-seeking online student. Annual awards are divided evenly between Fall, Winter, and Spring quarters (Summer quarters are excluded).
Scholarship Eligibility
- Transcript: Verification of academic standing. Applicants will need to submit transcripts from their current high school, college, or university to verify their academic standing. An unofficial transcript may be accepted with the application form, but an official transcript is required in our Louisiana Tech Office of Admissions before the scholarship deadline.
Send via email to: ASC@LATech.edu. - GPA Requirement: Must maintain of a 3.00 cumulative GPA at the end of every quarter.
- Enrollment: Degree-seeking and are enrolled full-time. (Continuous full-time enrollment of at least 8 credit hours per quarter for undergraduate online students or 6 credit hours per quarter for online graduate students. *Excluding Summer Quarter*)
- Financial Aid: Students with an elevated level of financial need are encouraged to apply and cannot have an outstanding debt with Louisiana Tech University.

Residency or Citizenship: Applicants may need to provide proof of residency or citizenship. International students, please visit https://international.latech.edu/scholarship-information for additional information.
Application Process
Deadline Compliance: It’s crucial for applicants to submit all required materials by the scholarship deadline. Late submissions are not considered.
- Aug. 1 for each fall quarter; awardees receive funds in September. (EXTENDED 8/20/2024)
- Oct. 1 for each winter quarter; awardees receive funds in December.
- Feb. 1 for each spring quarter; awardees receive funds in March.
Must re-apply every academic year. (June 1-August 1)
Applicants must submit the following:
- Complete the Distance Learner Scholarship application form.
- Essay or Personal Statement: Applicants will need to submit an essay or personal statement explaining their reasons for applying for the scholarship, academic and career goals, and future plans after degree completion.
- Submission: Send scholarship application, unofficial transcript(s), and essay or personal statement to ASC@LATech.edu.
