The M.A. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology program is designed to prepare students to work in areas relating to applied behavioral science in organizations and business. This program will provide students with a rigorous understanding of employment law, training and development strategies, leadership and decision making, organizational psychology theory, research methods, and statistics.
Graduates will have the skills to apply:
- a knowledge of behavioral theory
- practical knowledge gained through diverse experiences
- research practices to providing direction for organizational leadership.
Whether motivating employees, nurturing strong leadership, cultivating diversity, or managing organizational change, our graduates have the skills necessary to be effective, scientist-practitioners of the behavioral sciences in the workplace.
The MA involves a hands-on internship experience, where students (with the oversight and support of program faculty) use the skills that they’ve gained during the program to make positive impact on organizations.
How are we different?
Students can gain applied experience in I-O Psychology through their internship experience and optional participation in the AROS consulting organization.
