The Doctor of Education program is designed to meet the needs of professionals working in P-12 and post-secondary educational settings. The program enables both aspiring and seasoned leaders to focus on specific problems of practice that are important to their work. A primary focus of the program is to support leaders to become even stronger advocates for positive change through engagement with research.
Learning Outcomes
- Students will evaluate and apply existing, current research to their leadership practice.
- Students will engage in empirical research to contribute to the literature and contribute to solving complex problems of leadership practice.
Student Involvement
Students will contribute to professional organizations such as the Mid-South Educational Research association through publishing to journals, presenting at conferences, and serving in a variety of roles within the organizations.

Students are able to earn a certificate in higher education or seek additional leadership certifications in the P-12 setting.

How are we different?
This program is unique in that it is both fully online and fully synchronous. Course interactions take place primarily via Zoom. The program uses a cohort model that has been demonstrated to be highly successful in enabling students to complete their doctoral program within three years of beginning the program.
Cost and Aid
Scholarships
Just like on-campus students, Tech Online students may be eligible for admission, departmental, or private scholarships. Louisiana residents may also be eligible for the Taylor Opportunity Program for Students (TOPS) scholarships awarded by the State of Louisiana. Tuition
The Tech Online program is very unique in that there is flat fee per credit hour. There are no additional fees.
Graduate programs cost $475 per credit hour.
Careers
The program supports working professionals in planning their own unique leadership pathways. Program graduates typically aspire either to move into increasingly more responsible leadership roles within their current organization or to have the mobility to find new career directions such as moving from working in P-12 to working in higher education.
